
Tech Go Green is looking for highly motivated individuals that have a desire to utilize their knowledge and abilities in the field of sustainability. Interns will gain professional experience in this new, fast-paced industry of “going green” by helping the community lower its environmental impact through awareness of sustainable practices and innovative technology.
For Fall 2009, we have two different internships available. Please specify which internship you are applying for.
Position Title: Green Community Initiative Intern
Duties: Interns will help with projects in our Sustainability Design program. This includes attending site walkthroughs, analyzing trends, and preparing proposals. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
* Finding alternatives for current energy uses
* Soliciting new business clients through both traditional and innovative methods of marketing
* Researching new ways to be sustainable and “green”
* Some marketing and public relations
* Engaging community outreach
* Assisting with special events
* Contributing relevant green articles to be displayed on the website
* Other clerical duties
Internship Requirements:
* Must be a current college student or recent graduate, all majors are welcome
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
* Attention to detail
* Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
* Internet research skills
* Be an advocate of the sustainability industry and “going green”
Position Title: Resource Recovery Intern
Duties: We are also currently seeking an intern to assist with the development and administration of a signature full service Recycling Program for local businesses in the South Bay. The successful candidate will be tirelessly motivated to promote the mission of sustainable living and practice in both public and private sectors. Must be extremely resourceful and inspired by pioneering the development of a unique program service. Initial tasks will be devoted to significant research, partnership building, networking, marketing design, strategic planning, organizational analysis and administration, and the development of data collection systems to track success of program service. There is opportunity to get in on the ground floor and establish a solid foundation for success in the green industry.
