Overview
The way we live and work has an enormous impact on the natural world, from global climate change to deforestation to pollution, but everyone has the ability and the opportunity to thrive and prosper by becoming more sustainable. In our Sustainability Design program, we help you become part of the solution to our shared environmental, social, and economic problems.
For businesses:
If every business in the United States incorporated one green practice into their daily routine, it would make a much needed effort against over-consumption and result in a more sustainable community for all. You may be thinking that your small business could not possibly make a difference in reducing the Nation's environmental impact. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, small businesses make up 99 percent of all businesses nationwide, employ 50.6 percent of the non-farm private sector workforce, and are responsible for half the country's economic output. Therefore, small businesses could very well be the route into which we could create a sustainable community for all.
For residents:
The residential sector produces 17.5% of the greenhouse gas emissions in the United States, even disregarding transportation, which make up 28% of U.S. emissions. This sector is also one of the easiest places to make improvements, as it is up to the discretion of an individual, rather than a corporation, to make a change.
For everyone in between (schools, churches, gyms, etc):
Whatever your entity is, incorporating greener and cleaner practices into your operations will directly help the community become more sustainable. Community centers are also a great place to make these changes as it is a great opportunity to educate many members of the community.
If you've already taken an initiative towards environmental stewardship, Congratulations! We applaud you for your efforts! Send us your story about how you have gone green so that we may recognize your efforts and the community may learn from your actions.
If you're still in the planning stages of incorporating sustainable practices in your operations and you are having difficulty, Tech Go Green is here to help. We know that going green may not be as easy as it sounds. Especially in trying economic times, making investments in green technology may not be a possibility. However, in our Sustainability Design, we can help you identify and implement greener and cleaner practices into your home or office. We serve as your energy auditors, your project managers, and your reporters so that incorporating these changes are easier for you. What may have seemed like obstacles can become opportunities with our help.
